Hello everyone! Guess I get to break the board in ;D
My name is Andrew, and although I couldn't make it to the first meeting of the club, I do look forward to participating in the future. I'm a Senior in Pharmacy, and was introduced to manga and anime back in the 'glory days' of Dragon ball Z back in the days when Toonami was cool. From there, I've just kept wading deeper and deeper into the world that is manga, mainly via connections through fanfiction. I'm always open to new series to try, but I do prefer Shonen to most anything else.
Can't wait to really get this board going!

Hey Andrew!
I too was introduced to anime through the "glory days" of Toonami. Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo, and Gundam Wing will always hold a special place in my heart ;]
My name is Lea(the username makes it pretty obvious). I've been a manga/anime veteran for years, and I am now doing undergraduate research on Angel Sanctuary. I am really excited about the club and judging from the first meeting I believe it will be extremely interesting and intellectually stimulating. It's really great to meet people who feel the same way that I do about manga. I really look forward to working with you all to further our analysis of manga :]

Hello everyone! WELCOME TO THE BOARD! Huzzah! I'm glad to see more members this morning than there were before the meeting yesterday. I was starting to think that I should've slipped "forum" into sentences randomly as reminders. I am your Vice President (and treasurer as it stands now). I'm known by many names. Sam, Heera, Shukketsushi, Whispered, |)347|-|, various profane words... But "Samantha" is on my birth certificate. I was introduced to Anime through Sailormoon then Toonami, when it didn't suck, and my friend who was already obsessed with it by 5th grade. Incase you've forgotten, here's a fun little image of what I look like (But not on most days)! ...it's a long story (Not really, I just have Arabic homework that needs attending to). ETA: Thank you for getting this post started, Andrew. Also, you all will see me often wearing Marine Corps stuff (very, very often). To answer the question that always gets posed to me: I am not in the Marine Corps. My boyfriend is, active duty and presently deployed. Seriously, you wouldn't believe how many people just assume I'm in the Corps because I'm so 'moto.'

Hello All! Welcome to our club and forum! What to say, what to say. Hmm, well firstly (as my name on the board says) I'm Hillary, your President! If you feel the need to call me by any other name, that's fine too. I don't really know what was up with my hair in that pic. I think it was raining. Anyway, I got into anime like most people here (Toonami), and it just blossomed from there. Though I have to admit, I prefer manga over anime any day of the week. Other than that, I'm doing undergraduate research on the manga NANA. (It's amazing and you won't get me to stop talking about it) I hope to get to know you all!

My name is Parvenarius the Liar, nice to meet you. I jest, my real name is Rashad and I'm a first year Astronomy Student. I couldn't make it to the last meeting because I had a midterm in Physics. I like just about everything (in the world) and am currently analyzing film in my "film" class so I may bring some techniques from that class such as low angle shots, pan, mise-en-scene examinations. I also have a terrible sense of humor that relies on allusions, irony, and quick wit and joke at conventionally inappropriate times. Hmm, I also tried to restart Mudding, but I *LEGAL ACTIVITY* graphical games so its unlikely that I would be very committed to MUDs. I will confess that I today still like Toonami (read Naruto/Zatch Bell/low time commitment) and it is the only TV that I watch anymore in college [30 minutes/week] and will divulge that I probably like Anime because my father does (like he was watching it during the "glory days". I only watch Naruto up to where Toonami shows it so don't tell me *BEWARE OF SPOILER* that Sasuke [blanks] Orochimaru after [find out on Wikipedia] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sasuke_Uchiha#Current_arc like a floormate of mine did. My father reads the Manga; but in College I don't talk to him much, especially not about Naruto. This is not all about me. I didn't include my political ideologies or my hobbies; but such is irrelevant. Speaking of which, I think a political (read Pro-Communist) manga would be cool to look at. I never saw a Communist representation in manga. Anyway, welcome all!

Hey Ya'll. Millie here. I enjoyed the last meeting and I am SUPER excited about this club. (Hillary/Sam: I know I know I have to e-mail you about the website, which I will do in a bit, I've just been so busy...) I am a junior in Art/Photography and I've been a fan since of anime/manga since the Toonami days also, and I still watch it when I can. Nowadays I'm penniless so all my anime and manga needs are met through *cough*scanlations&fansubs*endcough*, so I'm kinda out of what's "hot" between people who buy the actual books (like Death Note >_>). Feel more than free to contact me on AIM: Wearealltrash or MSN: fantaisiesign@hotmail.com (Get it? ~ It's a song from the Cowboy Bebop OST's...) Cause umm... I am not busy enough to talk to people online, but I like meeting and sharing my interests... so yah. I'm off, I got a package downstairs waiting for me! Just because I love telling people: I am from Puerto Rico, I moved to Ohio last September!

Hey everyone! I'm Brooke incase you've forgotten. I'm the only redhead in the group(no surprise!). : P
I've been into manga and anime since I was like 12. Toonami is where it all started back in the glory days. Gundam Wing with my love Duo started it all. I read more manga then I watch anime, but thats just what I like.
I'm a Japanese student who switched into the major after getting out of athletic training. I love Japanese history and that's one of the big reasons I'm in the program. Since I switched into Japanese in the winter quarter~I can't start the language until next fall :.( Sad I know.
I love love love all things Shonen (and shonen-ai hehe!). Action, blood, violence. Love it. And a little boy on boy never hurts either ^_^.
I'm really excited to get to know everyone in the club and to know that I'm not the only one who likes this stuff! I had to be a closet fan for all too many years...
btw~ MASCHKE!!! Help me get a cool picture up on this, I can't figure it out. Wahhh!

Hey everyone, it's Brandon here.
You may remember me as the douche in the back who hated on the musicals last meeting, but I'm really a nice person. I am not used to being in a room with other manga dorks since I usually keep my obsession to myself so I was a bit nervous.
My whole family reads comics so my gateway to manga was VIZ's first print of the Dragon Ball manga in American comic form, along with Ranma 1/2. Tenchi Muyo was my first favorite anime though.
Now most comics I read are manga. My favorites are ones about everyday life, not fantasy, but I do indulge in anything in Shonen Jump and Shonen Sunday.
Hope I get to know you all!

Hellooo, i am Sarah. I'm a japanese major form Cuyahoga Falls (if you know where it is i'll give you a hug), and I got into anime from a friend of mine who showed me Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. I don't really watch Toonami any more, but if they show something I'm interested in I will. I mostly like stuff that makes you think. A lot. Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Kino's Journey, stiff like that, though I do admit to liking some mostly mindless entertainment every once in a while. I think my biggest accomlishment in this field is getting my mom hoooked too. (Thank you, Saiyuki). Hmmm... Well, I'm really looking forward to this club. See you all around.

Hi everybody, I'm Sam, but since we already have one (who got the introductions in before me!) call me whatever you like. I'm a first-year Biochem student and got into anime and manga through the old Saturday morning anime block on Starz showing Vampire Hunter D. My taste in anime and manga is pretty varied, depending on what I'm reading at the time. I hope to get some good recommendations and fun discussions from you all!

But enough of Queen, I'm Daniel, Huck, or whatever and Trigun rules!!! That is all.
